7.7 Specification of territories
Territories can be specified by sending the identifier for a territory (e.g. an ISO code) in a TerritoryCode
element. This version of the MWN standard adds the option for senders of the messages to specify a unique group of territories in a Territory
composite and then use an internal reference identifier contained within the TerritoryReference
element within the message to refer to it from elsewhere in the message. This mechanism can also be used for a single territory.
While the communication of territories is still possible using the TerritoryCode
element, it is recommended that the new Territory
composite and TerritoryReference
elements are used.
