For companies that wish to send or receive right share claims data using web services it is essential that such a web server knows the identity of who is calling its web services. This can be achieved with or without formal authentication (see Clauses 6.3.7 and 6.3.8). The benefit of using formal authentication is that it ensures that the data exchange is secure.
